On Tuesday May 31st, the Radio Shack at 2518 Brentwood Blvd. was burglarized at approximately 11:30pm. The suspect used a large rock to break the window and enter the store. Electronic items were taken. The alarm company notified police, and when they responded, the suspect had left the area.
This morning, at 6:10am, a similar burglary occurred at the AT&T Store at 1811 Brentwood Blvd.. Once again, electronic items were taken. Our department was notified of an alarm at the business. While enroute to the store, a Brentwood officer observed a suspicious person in the Hanley Industrial Court area. After investigating, it was discovered the person was the burglar from the AT&T and Radio Shack stores. He is a suspect in other burglaries in the St Louis area as well.
This afternoon, the St Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s office charged the suspect, Joseph L. Binford, 35 years old, of E. St Louis, IL, with Burglary 2nd and Stealing.
