The Brentwood Police Department now has a collection box in the lobby of our Police Department for the disposal of unwanted or unused prescription medications. The Missouri P2D2 program collects and disposes of these drugs responsibly. The program is safe, free and anonymous.
Items accepted include: prescription medications, all over-the-counter medication, pet medications, vitamins and supplements, medicated ointments, lotions, creams and oils, liquid medication in leakproof containers, homeopathic and herbal remedies.
Items not included are: illegal drugs, needles/sharps, syringes with needles, thermometers, IV bags and tubing, bloody or infectious waste, personal care products, empty containers, hydrogen peroxide, and aerosol cans and inhalers.
Help protect the environment and your health by properly disposing of unused medicines. Stop by the police department anytime to dispose of your unused medication. If the lobby door is locked, call dispatch (644-7100), and an officer will respond to the station to assist you.
This Saturday, April 30th, from 1000am-200pm, we will have a Brentwood officer in the station lobby collecting unwanted or unused drugs as part of National Prescription Drug Take-Back day.
Thank you, Brentwood officers! This is a great way to spread awareness about disposing of medications safely. I appreciate all you do for our community.
