Texting while driving. Not a good idea. Let’s be careful out there!
This morning, we had two cars stolen between 6:20am-6:35am. One in the 1900 block of St. Clair Ave. and one in the 8800 block of Pine Ave. Both cars were unlocked and warming.
In the last several months, we have taken seven stolen car reports in Brentwood for cars warming up in the morning, either in the street or in the driveway. This crime is common each winter season, but usually not to this degree. It is common, not only in the St Louis area, but nationwide.
If you feel the need to warm your car, you need to lock the car when you go back into to house. Of course, this means you will need an extra key to your car. If your neighbor warms their car in the morning, be sure to let them know what’s going on. Brentwood police will be patrolling the neighborhoods, as usual, but you can help us by reporting suspicious activity. (314-644-7100)
